Fibrelight’s SOLAS emergency ladders are one of these outstanding solutions. Designed to be robust and durable, these ladders are ideal for emergency evacuations. Their light weight and compact size allow for quick and easy deployment, being ready for use in less than a minute by a single person. This ladder is suitable for all types of vessels, from merchant ships and cruise ships to catamarans, fishing boats and sport boats, offering unmatched versatility and safety.

Features

It has a standard width of 0.6 meters and is marketed in variable lengths from 2 to 30 meters. It contains no metal parts, so it is also suitable for vessels and platforms at risk of fire. A 30-meter ladder weighs less than 25 kg. The double rungs throughout the structure make climbing up and down easier, safer and faster than with a single rung ladder.

Emergency Scale Regulations

Chapter III, 31.1.1. & MSC.1 / Circ. 1243 of the SOLAS regulation specifies that all cargo vessels over 100 meters in length to the nearest lifeboat are required to carry rescue boats as well as a means of disembarkation that allows manual descent into the water. The use of a knotted line is no longer permitted.

The ‘Fibrelight’ emergency ladder has been designed and tested to meet all these requirements as well as to provide an easy and safe method of disembarkation.
